CNCA Nepali Language Program

The Nepali Language Program is for the Children of Nepalese origin of ages between 5 and 18 years. The objective of this program is to teach the children to read, write and speak Nepali language. This program also teaches the children about Nepal and the Nepalese culture. This program was started in June 2007. There are currently 18 students attending the Nepali language class.

 CNCA Nepali school is a member of the Southern Alberta Heritage Language Association (SAHLA), a non-profit umbrella organization whose mission is to lead, advocate and provide resources for the promotion of international/heritage languages and cultural education.

Some relevant details are as follows:

  • The registration for the class is done at the beginning of each session.
      Student registration fee for this winter - spring session is $20.00
  • There are two sessions in a year.
    • January to June.
    • September to December.

  • Classes are not held during the summer months (July and August).
  • Classes will be held weekly (every Sunday).
  • Nepali language class summer picnic is held in July and an annual test
         is in taken in August.

If anybody is interested, CNCA can also provide assistance in the conversational Nepali language on the individual need basis.

  • March 7, 21, 28 (No Class on 14)
  • April 11,  25 (No Class on 4 and 18)
