A program was held to meet and greet the new NRN Canada officials on September 24, 2011 at the Centre for Newcomers in Calgary. Two Nepali communities, Calgary Nepalese Community Association (CNCA) and Nepalese Community Society Calgary (NCSC) welcomed the the new president of NRN, Dr. Binod KC, Vice-President representing Alberta, Dr. Betman Singh Bhandari, and member Bishnu Subba.
The event started with a welcome statement from CNCA president Rabindra Thanju and NCSC president Jagadish Chapagain. In the event, NRN President Dr. KC told that he will focus creating awareness of NRN Canada. He also added that his primary focus will be in coordanating and working together with the local level Nepali organizations in various parts of Canada.

In the event vice-president Dr. Bhandari old that NRN can’t pursue it’s goal without the support of the local level Nepali organizations and support of the community based associations like CNCA and NCSC helps to attain the NRN-Canada’s goal. NRN member Subba ask all the Nepali residing in Canada to join NRN Canada to preserve our identity and origin.
Various Calgary residents Nepali including Dr. Raju Tuladhar, Dr. Desh Subba, Bharat Regmi, Laxman Shrestha, and Rajendra Prasai offered their congratulations to the new NRN officials and suggestions.
NRN President Dr. KC in his email after the event, asked all the Calgary residents who were unable to join the event to email if they have any questions, comments, or suggestions for NRN-Canada.
